Spook-tober: Day 6

We All Scream

 We All Scream

She’d always thought magic was something from books and movies. It wasn’t a thing of real life, but she made the mistake of playing along when her friends decided it was the cool thing to do.

She managed to dodge meetings, circles, and magic sessions for weeks, but they finally wore her down the week before Halloween.

“It will be so cool!” her friend gushed.

“After this I’m done,” she said. “Don’t bug me anymore. You’re just lucky it’s Halloween.”

Her friend shrugged. “They all say that,” they said. “Soon you’ll be one of us!”

“This drama is part of the reason I won’t be back'” she said. “Can we get this over with?”

Her friend showed her where to sit at an overly-laid table, complete with a chincy crystal ball and spirit board.

She placed her head in her hands and tried to tune out as much of the nonsense as she could.

She nearly accomplished just that when a loud thunderclap nearly knocked her and several others out of their chairs.

The lights flicked off and everyone screamed.

A voice echoed through the room, “You have brought upon you the darkest of darkest of curses,” it said.  “From now on, you will serve me as the thralls you are.

Even the believers screamed  the table was overturned in a panic, chair’s flew, and everyone ran for the doors.

“Fools!” the voice boomed. “You are mine!”

The darkness swallowed the room, and no one was seen ever again.
