Spook-tober: Day 19

Darkness in the Depths

It was a Crevasse in the deepest depths of the ocean. He presided as king. His glistening tentacles brought subjects and food into his lair whenever he wished. But his perfect paradise was under attack.

The Angler fish and his cronies were bound and determined to take over his kingdom and claim it as their own.

In the darkness his skin burned a bright red. He did not take kindly to usurpers. They would pay for their transgressions.

He gathered his subjects to him, and they whispered their plans in the safety of his lair. They would be ready for the advancing army.

The Angler fish was confident in his own plans. There would be blood, but that was a price he was willing to pay.

“Let’s go take what is rightfully ours!” he said. “Onward.”

The currents in the depths dragged at the combatants as they marched. They were determined to reach their goal.

The king, Giant octopus, watched as the Angler fish and his army approached.

He slipped out of his lair, and his subjects were proudly by his side.

He swept his expansive tentacles out as soon as the Angler fish was in his reach.

He laughed as the overwhelmed fish screamed and snapped their jaws at him.

He winced as they tore at his flesh, but he was too strong for them to fight against.

His subjects cleaned up where he started, and the fish who weren’t crushed ran in fear.

They were victorious!

Long live the king!
