Possessed
When my grandfather passed I inherited the pocket watch he’d inherited from his father, and the cycle went back several more generations, but that would take all day. So, let’s just say it’s a very old watch and I own it.
It was a very old watch…
I was afraid of it.
My family were all so adamant that having this watch was an honor that I couldn’t tell anyone about my problems.
So I am telling you now.
I know the problems are getting worse.
They are coming for me now…
I pace the house every night ane two sets of footsteps keep pace with my steps. I can see the marks we are wearing into the carpet. I never thought I’d be begging for a moment alone, but I am now.
The ticking grows louder…
The footsteps have increased to four.
The unseen army is growing and they are coming from the watch. I’ve been doing research and my watch has seen nothing by death and tragedy. What have I gotten myself into?
I can’t move or they will take me.
I don’t want to go…
They never told me what killed my grandfather, but I doubt I will survive half as long at this point. The watch glows red now, and not even a sledgehammer can destroy it. The whispers plague my every moment and I am imprisoned in my own room. I hope someone will come and rescue me before it’s too late.
They are here…
I have been chosen.
His family found his empty room and all that remained was the battered old watch. It wasn’t until sister read the frantic, cramped handwriting, that she knew the truth.
She would find some way to right these wrongs and bring peace to those who fell for the watch. It was the least she could do for her brother. He was the only boy. He asked for none of this and she didn’t listen.
