Deadly Attraction
He knew he was risking his life every time he walked out his door, to go to work in the morning, but he couldn’t imagine doing anything else. He was driven to protect and serve, and always had been.
His family teased him that he was married to his job–he never denied it, but he wasn’t planning on being alone forever. But, right now, he was happy with the life he was leading.
He walked into the precinct, grabbed a coffee and headed to his desk. He yawned and sat down to a mountain of paper work. He’d finally wrapped up a particularly difficult case, so the paperwork was a tedious, but needed part of the job.
It was a relatively quiet morning, so he was lost in thought signing off on reports, paging through documents, and closing loose ends. It had been an incredibly taxing case, and he was happy to know the guy was behind bars. He’d gotten too close to someone on the case, and they became a victim.
He knew not to get too close, but he did it every. He couldn’t help it.
