Obsession

“Get a grip of yourself. It’s not like this is your first time.” John thought to himself as he stood in front of the door.
You see, John had a problem, and it had to do with his love. As soon as he got near. His mind went somewhere else, and he always regretted it later. He never had any money because of this, and he told himself that today would be different.
The door opened as people came out of the steakhouse. This triggered him. As his eyes glazed over, he knew it was all over. Grabbing the door, he stepped in. The aroma of caramelizing meat mixed with the rendering fat. With the sound of flames and sizzling of the steaks.
“Good day John, would you like your normal table. As you can see, we got in some rare cuts of prime beef.” The host said with a smile. As he knew John on site. And John had been standing out side for a while.
“Yes, please, and I’ll have a Ribeye.” John spoke as in a dream. Knowing that when he cut into the ribeye, it would be dripping with its own juices. With a light crust from the caramelizing on a high heat. Then, she basted it with a rich butter and rosemary. The chef knew what he liked.
