Loving Care
I woke with my head spinning and every inch of my body aching. My vision was blurry. Out of focus faces swam before my eyes.
I was confused, scared, and I had no idea where I was, or why I was there. I reached for something to hold onto, and found a warm comforting hand.
Fingers wrapped around mine, and the panick started to abate. I blinked my eyes to clear them. The smiling but worried face of my partner came into focus.
“Lay still, you were in an accident, but you’re going to be okay,” they said. “I’ve got you.”
I was still confused, but knowing someone was there for me eased my heart, and I could find out what happened later.
For now, I was safe.
