A Fortnight of Lust: Day 14

Couples Retreat

By Dominick May

Looking into my husband’s eyes, I reached out and took his hand. “They’re coming, are you ready. If they catch us, we lose.”

Two steps and over the cliff towards the lagoon below.

Wind rushed upwards us and made the short drop feel twice as far. With a big splash, we were surrounded by warm water. Doing hard kicks, we made it to the sandy edge.

I was proud of my husband. He couldn’t swim. He trusted me and jumped into the water with me. Now, we could move to the safe zone.

We had gotten in a rut with our marriage. He knew it, and suggested we do something different together. So he asked what I would find exciting. I chose to come and play this endurance challenge.

Today was a couples tag, and we were rocking it.

Jogging into the forest, a root caught my foot. The world turned sideways, and a squeak of fear came out. Just then a pair of strong arms scooped me up. Giggling as I pictured what my husband had done.

There he was jogging with me in his arms like we were newlyweds crossing the door at our house. But instead of stepping he’s rushing to get to his bed. We definitely were rocking it.
