25 Days of Terror

Day 3

Trio

They had been friends their whole lives. It was always the three of them were attached at the hip. They were never apart, but fate had other plans for them. College was going to split them up, so they decided to have one last girls’ weekend before the fall semester started. So, they could remember what it was like to be together.

“You got us reservations at THE haunted hotel,” Angie said. “This is going to be so cool!”

“The hotel is only half of it,” Missy said. “We’ve got a private tour too!”

“The best part is we are going to eat in the very room where it all went down,” Meg said. “Come on, we need to get going.”

One over excited plane flight later, the girls piled into an aptly themed shuttle, and were spirited away to the hotel, and their immersive weekend was about to begin.

Two days in and the friends were frustrated and disappointed. They flopped onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.

“We fell for a scam.”

“The website made it sound so amazing.”

“Can we go home?”

They shook their heads in unison, and went off to find their own fun, just like they’d always done.

They’d returned to their room because they couldn’t visit the cemetary. Now, they were determined to visit that cemetary. Nothing would stand in their way.

“Follow my lead,” Missy said. “It’ll be just like when we were kids.”

It was surprisingly easy to sneak away from the group and sneak over the low gate and into the cemetary.

The girls were in awe. They ran their hands along the worn gravestones. Their hearts pounded with excitement and static electricity crackled through the air.

The scenery abruptly shifted and the girls screamed.

“What is going on?”

“Where are we?”

“What year is it?”

Thundee cracked and figures approached them.

“You broke the rules. You live by ours now.”

“Welcome home!”

The girls screamed, tried to run, but it was too late.
