Dark and Stormy Night

“It was a Dark and Stormy Night…
Ah, phoey! I don’t know what to do with that! It’s so cliche! I need somethibg better than the most overused line in the history of writing, I really do! But, what COULD I do? Rewrite it to sound better? Edgier? UGH! So embarrassing of me to even try it!
Hm? Oh? Right, right, you are wondering who I am, aren’t you? Well, my name is Avery Wimbleton, an old writer trying to find her literary spark again. However, I seen to be treating this like a diary entee than an actual writing exercise, but I guess that’s what I need right now. It is better than nothing, I guess. Though, I am surprised my old typewriter still works! I swore this fragile bucket of ink and metal had finally, well, kicked the bucket! If you could see it now, it would be agreed upon that the rust had finally taken it. Good on you, Sweet Berda, you still work like a dream!
Oh, yeah, I named her, the typewriter. How could I not? I have been lonely these past few decades and she had been back here with me when no one else has. I guess you can say I’ve grown attached to it, sentimal even. But, I should really do something about her now that she’s in disrepair. My nostalgia side wants me to dix her, but I think it’s time that I retire her for good. I’d hate to see her go and all…
This note was found on a bloody typewriter at the scene of the crime. The victim was found on the floor of the office of the house, head bludgeoned with a heavy weapon. It is speculated that the weapon is the typewriter itself, but further investigation says otherwise. There are no leads to the incident itself, but it’s believed that the motives are nefarious in nature. The investigation is still underway, so all information in regard to Ms. Wimbleton’s death, is to be reported to the Oregon Edge Police Station immediately!
