Bestie Beasties

“Haaai Bestie!!! ” I squealed in utter excitement upon seeing my friend from across the room, running straight to them with a skip in my step.
“Haaai! How are ya?” They replied, smiling ear to ear the moment they looked over at me. With open arms, they jumped to me and we both exploded into giggles.
Everyone else was looking at us like we were crazy, but who cares! We were finally together again after three months of long distance. How could we be normal about it? I mean, c ‘mon! We’re not even human, of course we won’t act like it!
“I’m doing amazing, girl!” I chirped happily, ‘What about you?”
“Wonderful now that we’re together again!” They chitter as well, making me giggle.
“I knooww! I’m sorry I was gone for so long, the snowstorms this past holiday season were making me sluggish.”
“Me too, girl!” They agreed with my apology, “It was REALLY bad this year! Usually it’s never that cold!”
“The weather just be CRAZY!” We both say together, making us burst out into more giggling.
By now, people were leaving the room, letting us have our much-needed bonding time. And thank the Gods for that cuz we resorted to just communicating in chitters, chirps, and other bird-like noises you would expect from Harpies like us.
“C’mon, girl, I found the PERFECT place that just moved in last week!” They told me while grabbing me by the hand and leading me out of the room. I follow with a stupid smile on my face as they continued,
“It’s the biggest, bestest place ever for creatures like us! It’s called, ‘Cafe, La Lovey Dovey’ and it’s SO cute!!”
And off we went together,
hand in hand, getting some coffee
and poppy-seed muffins while perched on a branch near the second floor of the cafe.
And they WERE right! The vibes were on point and the staff were so cute and friendly that I couldn’t help but squeal again in excitement.
Ah, Evelyn Roo, they always know the good places in town! Love ya, Roo! X3
