Spook-tober 2025: Day 17

Lunar Pulse

Leo Driver

Above the open roof, the moon shone in a golden hue, lighting up the ballroom below with the softness of a parting kiss.

Dust lined the marble floor, but light imprints of heels and dress shoes were fresh from the memory that lives on every night.

Translucent bodies dance underneath the cosmic beauty that happened once every month. However, they were not alone tonight for a living young woman decided to doll herself up and enter the ball with a friend in tow, turning to him with a smile.

“See?” She would ask him, said boy was more enamoned by the

spectical before him, “I told you this was a good idea.”

“Wow” The boy whispered with wide eyes, “No wonder you begged. This is enchanting!”

‘Well,” She asked, a smirk forming on her beautufull face,

“Shall we have this dance?” A hand outstretched, the boy looks over and takes it into his, nodding slowly before she takes him onto the dance floor, dancing away with the spectral quests of the party that never ends for them.

However, as all things, it does come to an end, much like tonight when the sunrises…

The memory ends, but not only the spirits faded, the woman did as well, leaving the boy in shock.

When the sunlight washed over the now empty ballroom, the boy stood there at the center in silence, his mind reeling at what just happened.

His suit was stained with a dark sticky residue, more of said residue was pooling around his shoes.

Will anyone notice?

No.

That place had not been touched in a long, long time…
