A Fortnight of Lust

Day #3: Stars – by Amber Averay

Breaking News: Star Killer Strikes Again

In the early hours of this morning police were called to the exclusive gated community in Hatherleigh Heights where a neighbour found the body of singing superstar Melody Markham. The distraught woman told first responders she’d seen Ms Markham an hour earlier exiting her black Mercedes limousine, but saw and heard nothing further until she made the gruesome discovery.

It is unclear why Mrs Harper ventured to the Markham residence – but her frantic call to emergency services made clear there was the body of a young woman ‘lying in a pool of blood’ on the floor of the kitchen. ‘I can’t get in, the doors are locked, but she’s not moving! Oh my God, oh my God, I think she’s dead!’

It was confirmed a short time later by Melody’s manager, Roman Garrett (of Garrett and Graeme Entertainment Representatives Inc.), that the singer was declared dead at the scene. No other information has been officially released, though unconfirmed reports claim she suffered multiple stab wounds in the chest and abdominal areas.

This is the third such suspicious death in the Upper Heights in four months. Fourteen weeks ago the butchered body of award winning actress Althea Richelle was discovered by her husband in the en suite bathroom of their multi-million dollar mansion, her throat cut so deeply her head was almost severed. Marcus Radlington was cleared of all involvement in her death.

Nine weeks ago the remains of catwalk legend and supermodel Chryssi Stephenson were found in her garage. Death was caused by a single stab wound to the heart. So far there has been nothing official to link the murders, yet sources claim the knife wounds on all three victims match, and bloodied footprints found at each scene hint at a single perpetrator.

The residents of Hatherleigh Heights – particularly the celebrity occupants – are living in a growing bubble of fear, for the killer appears utterly inconspicuous: accessing properties and homes without detection and leaving behind nothing but a victim – and a single print marked in blood.

No witnesses have yet come forward, though police are appealing for anybody with information to call the hotline.
